A fogging system turns ordinary water into a mist so fine it barely behaves like water at all—it hangs in the air and evaporates almost as soon as it's released, instead of falling and wetting whatever's underneath. Compare that to a regular spray, where the droplets are big enough to land, drip, and pool. Fogging skips all of that.
People often use "fogging" and "misting" as if they're the same thing, and honestly, they're close cousins. But there's a real difference in how they get used. Misting is mostly about cooling an outdoor space. Fogging does that too, but it also handles humidity control, dust suppression, and odour management—jobs that need water suspended in the air, doing work, not sitting on a surface.

A pump pushes water through purpose-built fogging nozzles, and out comes an extremely fine, almost weightless fog that spreads through the air around it. As those tiny droplets evaporate, they pull heat out of the surrounding air and add a bit of moisture back into it—which is the whole basis for both the cooling and the humidification side of things. Depending on where it's installed, the same fog can also settle airborne dust or help manage smell.
What actually decides whether a system performs well isn't just the pump—it's the layout. Where the nozzles sit, how far apart, what pressure they run at, how the water supply is set up. Get the design wrong and even a good pump won't save you.
